A Destination

Serving up rustic wood-fired cookery in the heart of the Yamhill Valley wine country.  The centerpiece of both menu and restaurant is a massive earthen wood-fired oven built by Oregon artist Kiko Denzer.

Influenced by world culinary traditions and local harvest, we use old-school time-honored techniques in the kitchen. Hearth breads fresh daily, wood-fired hand-made tacos and pizzas, Argentine empanadas, oak-smoked meats and vegetables, and fire-roasted entrees can all be found on our daily menus. House specialty soups and salads celebrating every season. Lunch sandwich specials and mouthwatering burgers. Desserts fresh-made in house.

You’ll find familiar favorites on every menu, along with new seasonal creations to try.

Dietary needs? We can make it gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan, nut/allergen—free… let us know! (Note: commingled kitchen handles wheat/gluten products, tree nuts.)

Owners: Dave and Cassie Van Domelen

Long-time Amity residents and native Oregonians, the Van Domelens are excited to give back to their community. They dreamed up The Blue Goat and built the space, combining their loves of slow food, working the land, fine craftsmanship, family, and community. Their restaurant vision integrates local jobs with farms and food, creating a place for people to gather over well-crafted meals. Their Blue Goat Farm raises products for the restaurant, and uses composting to reduce environmental impacts.

Dave is a woodworker, fly fisherman, small scale rancher, and environmental conservationist. Cassie is a writer, chef, musician, and visual artist. They live 2.4 miles from the restaurant with goats, sheep, chickens, and dogs. Their two daughters have flown the coop.
