Preserving the Harvest!

Everything is ripening at the same time this year, and we find ourselves inundated with figs, apples, peaches, blackberries, plums...  So.  We're serving everything we can right now, and setting some aside for the lean winter months.  Spiced figs, poached Italian plums, maple caramel apple butter, ginger-peach preserves, blackberry compote, and plenty more to come. I can’t tell you what exact heaven and accomplishment it feels like; such mountains of satisfaction tucked in jars in rows on the shelf.
